New York State is targeting fake IDs and underage drinking at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theatre Operation Prevent is a multi-agency effort by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Division of Field Investigation, the New York State Liquor Authority, the New York State Police and local law enforcement agencies. The agencies are partnering to identify and prosecute underage drinking and fake IDs. They are targeting visitors at the Jones Beach Amphitheatre and throughout the New York State Park system. The agencies are also partnering to conduct sweeps at popular summer bars in the Hamptons, Montauk and on Fire Island. The State reported issuing over 139 summonses statewide in April and May. In 2017 the 150 arrests for fake IDs were reported at the Jones Beach Theatre alone.
